Winter Storm 2021

For the purpose of my audio slideshow analysis, I will be looking at the article Winter Storm 2021 which details the Texas winter crisis that befell citizens in 2021. The specifics of this story has literary elements that complement the audio slideshow that we can find at the center of this article. The photos that play while the audio is going show the audience an idea of what it would be like to live through these events themselves. Such Ideas like frozen pipes, no electricity, very little fuel, and other necessities for many of the folks living within Texas. To live in these subzero temperatures is an incredibly difficult process and the audio slideshow really allows the audience to engage with the source material in a very beneficial way. In the way of critiques, I do not have a whole lot on the front end simply because of how professional this audio slideshow package was. Again many of the elements visually and with regard to audio came out to be composed as well as being thought out. This united front of penmanship and samples of audio brought the story to life. Without these elements a similar story could have fallen flat or worse could have been not engaging for the consumer base of the slideshow. At certain parts, I did feel that the photos did not directly line up with the more generalized audio complaints from Texan homeowners. Information that I wish was included or tips for the authors of this article could be to include more elements of media that could bring in readers that don't necessarily engage with a more audio-based platform. Often times we can find that different sections of an author's reading base can tightly cling to their favorite media source or engage easier with elements that they are more comfortable with. For instance, an audio source that my father engages with most days is his Sunday night football. He isn't the type to be looking out for a written proposal of new Chiefs draft picks or related football media but rather enjoys his tv entertainment programs to get the new information that he wants to hear about in more detail. There is no difference for many in what platform they use but the likelihood that the article will be engaged within the first place can oftentimes rest upon the media elements used within it. All in all this article is a great example of how to use an audio slideshow to engage and interact with your audience.
